ISLAMABAD - Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan Chairman Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi said on Saturday that IPO Bill 2012, which has already been okayed by the Senate Standing Committee, has been tabled in the upper house (Senate) and is expected to be passed within next couple of days.

Chairman IPO-Pakistan Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi, MNA, said this while talking to the employees of Trademark, Copyright and Patent offices of IPO. Registrar Trademark Khalid Hidayat Khan, Controller of Patents Sabir Gul Khattak, Director Finance IPO Inam Muhammad, deputy registrars and heads of different sections were present on the occasion.

Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi assured employees of IP Registries that Policy Board will be constituted after the enactment of IPO-Pakistan Bill and their problems will be resolved on priority basis.

He said that process to frame the service structure and rules has already been initiated with the objective to regulate the service matters of officials. He issued directives to take up the case of pension contribution and other similar issues with the officials of Accountant General of Pakistan immediately and rest assure that all the difficulties of staff members be resolved without any delay.

The Chairman IPO asked the employees that they should discharge their official responsibilities with devotion and dedication and supplement their efforts to improve service delivery system.

He said that various initiatives had been adopted to make IPO a vibrant organization and with the support of European Union and World Intellectual Property Organization capacity building programs are in progress.

The employees of IPO expressed gratitude to the Chairman for kind consideration to their grievances.
