SAHIWAL - The Anti-Terrorism Court sent two accused to jail on remand till Nov 24, in the kidnapping, abusing and killing a minor child.

According to prosecution, the accused - Ahsan Manzoor and Munna Khaliq have been arrested on the charge of kidnapping for ransom, abusing and murdering a third-grader Muhammad Arham. ATC Special judge Shabbir Hussain Awan sent both the accused on judicial remand till November 24. It is to be noted that DSP Zounaira Anwar is the investigation officer of the case.

TWO ROBBED: Bandits looted cash, cellphones and jewellery in two dacoity incidents here on other day. According to police, two dacoits snatched Rs150,000 and a cellphone from a broker Saifur Rehman in Chak 149/9-L Harappa. In another incident eight burglars entered the house of a landlord Muhammad Shehzad and made off with Rs350,000, jewellery worth Rs400,000 and two cellphones in Chak 66/4-R.  The police have registered cases and have started investigation.


Villagers caught two robbers and handed them over to police after subjecting them to beating here the other day. According to police, a broker namely Muhammad Farooq made hue and cry after two robbers snatched cash and valuables from him at Harppa Station Naiwala Bangla.

 On hearing his shouts, the villagers rushed to the spot and caught the robbers after some resistance. They also subjected them to beating before they handed over them to police. The Deera Rahim Police registered a case against them.
