SIALKOT - Hundreds of PML-N workers rejoiced the victory of Federal Minister Khawaja Asif in a case of electoral rigging filed in the Supreme Court of Pakistan by the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI).

PTI’s losing candidate Usman Dar had filed the case with the apex court i against the alleged electoral rigging by the PML-N leader in constituency (NA 110, Sialkot-I) during the 2013 general elections. Commenting on this SC verdict, Khawaja Asif said, “I am humbled...Alhamdulillah...I have no words to thank Allah Almighty.” He said that the Supreme Court has endorsed the will of the people of Sialkot.”

Hundreds of PML-N workers distributed sweets and performed “Bhangra” on the drum beats in front of the PML-N House. MPAs M Ikram, Rana Liaqat Ali, Manshaullah Butt and Arshad Javaid Warraich and other leaders and workers took out a rally. They declared it a great political victory of PML-N against the PTI.


Asian Bradman Zaheer Abbas inaugurated Zaheer Abbas Cricket Coaching Academy at Jinnah Stadium during a special ceremony held here Thursday.

Addressing the participants, Zaheer Abbas said that the Punjab Sports Board was striving to promote the natural talent of cricket at school level across.

He added that the Punjab government would establish four cricket coaching academies at Sialkot, Rawalpindi, Multan and Lahore for promoting cricket at school level under the supervision of the Punjab Sports Board.

He added that this cricket coaching academy will work in active collaboration with the Punjab Sports Board for providing free cricket coaching under Punjab government’s Talent Hunt Programme. He said that the Sialkot region was enriched with natural talent of cricket and the academy would help the local youth shine.

Talking to newsmen, he hoped that the international cricket would revive in Pakistan within the next two years.

Sports Board Punjab Director General Zulfiqar Ali Ghuman, DCO Dr. Asif Tufail and Sialkot based leading sports goods manufacturers and exporters attended this ceremony. Ghuman also visited the Nawaz Sharif Hockey Stadium Sialkot and Sports Gymnasium. He directed the district administration to ensure early betterment of the hockey stadium.
