Sangla Hill: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a project of progress and prosperity of the country and maintained that “we are not careless from our duties”.
While addressing a public gathering at Sangla Hill after inauguration of an interchange on Friday, the prime minister said that the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) government has a record of materialisation of all pledges sincerely it made with the public. He said that an old demand of the people of Sangla Hill has been materialised.
The prime minister announced the project of supply of Sui Gas to Sangla Hill and said that all available resources will be spent on this project. He said that the government is imposing its agenda of development while some elements who are opponent to the progress are trying to fail this agenda. However, the people of Pakistan will reject the enemies of progress.
The premier also added that all possible efforts and all resources are being consumed to eliminate load shedding in the country and many energy projects are underway. He said that the government is trying the utmost to decrease the tariff of electricity. He said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project will prove a game changer in the region which would change the fate of Pakistan and bring about extraordinary progress and prosperity in the country.
The prime minister said that the government is paying ample attention towards the problem of Pakistan Railways and now this department has made sufficient progress, PIA is also being developed, he added. Nawaz Sharif further said that the government has restored peace in Karachi and now the people of the city are living in tranquility due to counter-terrorism measures.
He said that today’s Pakistan is stronger and more developed and the international world is praising the heights of development of Pakistan. He said that the government attaches top priority to the issue of redressing facilitate of the farmers and all possible step will be taken for their progress and well-being. He said that a university will also be set up in Sangla Hill to eliminate ignorance and produce educated youth from this city.
He announced to establish a 250-bed hospital, in Nankana Sahib. The prime minister also announced to construct an Expressway from Sangla Hill Interchange to Tibba Shah Behlol. He said that Faisalabad-Sainawala Express will be expanded up to Sangla Hill. Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has inaugurated the Sangla Hill interchange on Pindi Bhattian-Faisalabad Motorway (M-3).
Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Chaudhry Muhammad Barjees Tahir and Federal Minister of National Health Services Saira Afzal Tarar were also present on the occasion. The 3.7 kilometer long interchange has been completed at a cost of 299.202 million rupees and has a 440 meter wide service road, two toll plazas and a traffic control room.
The interchange will link adjoining areas of Sangla Hill to the National Highway and Motorway network for agricultural and industrial development in the area. The project was a longstanding demand of the local, which has been materialised.
There are agricultural farms and industries on the route and the project will enable the locals to carry their products to the adjacent areas and other cities.
