Rawalpindi - Following the directions of City Police Officer (CPO), police have launched massive crackdown against criminals across the district and rounded up 63 proclaimed offenders, including nine most wanted and 14 members of three criminal gangs during one week.
Police Spokesman SI Imran Haider said CPO Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi constituted several police teams to launch crackdown against criminals and gangsters across the district.
He said police during raids have held some 63 POs, including 9 most wanted criminals and busted 3 criminal gangs by apprehending their 14 members. He said police seized 8 cars, 5 motorcycles, 8 pistols with 32 rounds, 2 laptops, 2 LCDs, 4 stolen mobile phones, cash Rs1.2 million and cattle worth Rs2,50,000. “The investigators also solved two blind murder cases by rounding up two killers while 11 robbers were also held with recovery of Rs2,60,000 and jewellery from them,” Imran said.
Meanwhile, Saddar Bairooni police overturned a gambling and arrested 7 gamblers. Police recovered a motorcycle, 7 mobile phones and Rs7230 cash from their possession and registered a case against them. Later a police team produced the gamblers before a court of law and the judge sent the accused to Adiala Jail.
