ISLAMABAD - National Accountability Bureau Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal on Friday approved a comprehensive quality grading system to review the annual performance of bureau officials.

According to a NAB statement, under the quality grading system, while evaluating the performance for the year 2017, the oversight of officers of regional bureaus and headquarters will be identified and strict disciplinary action will be taken against incompetent and negligent officers.

The NAB chairman said that the anti-graft body has set 10 months time for completing the process for filing complaints, verification, inquiry, investigation, and filing of references with a time-limit for implementation. Necessary instructions have been issued to all regional bureaus about the grading system. With the consultation of regional bureaus and senior officers of the NAB, a combined investigation system will be approved to ensure an effective operational mechanism, the NAB chief said.  He said under the system, help will be taken from the experience and collective wisdom of senior supervisory officers and this will further improve the quality of investigation and inquiries.
