SHEIKHUPURA - Federal Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanvir Hussain claimed that today, Pakistan is far better than it was before 2013 as the PML-N government has made great strides in every field under the dynamic leadership of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

“The country has made unprecedented development and progress and the common man has felt the change at gross-root level.” Federal Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanvir Hussain stated during media talk at Sheikhupura Press Club here the other day.

He recalled that the nation was faced with an acute shortage of electricity but as soon as the PML-N came to power, its government under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif has overcome the menace energy crisis. “As is promised, the government will eliminate electricity loadshedding by 2018,” he asserted. He maintained that China-Pak Economic Corridor is a landmark project which will revolutionised the entire region. “There will economic boom in the country once this game-changer project is completed, which will help the country emerge as an Asian tiger,” he expressed his optimism. The federal minster deplored the 126 days PTI dharna, which, he claimed, had caused great loss to the country. “Everyone is well aware of the negative impact of this so-called set-in, which had delayed the Chinese president visit about six month,” he regretted.

Rana Tanveer lauded the role of Sheikhupura journalists community and assured them that he would make all-out his efforts to acquire land for the journalist colony in the district as soon as possible.  The federal minister claimed that the PML-N would make a clean sweep in 2018 general elections across the country. “We will form government not only in the centre but all provinces as a result of the landslide victory in the general elections,” he asserted.

On the occasion, the minster gave away a cheque for Rs100,000 to the press club management, although he had given Rs one million to the press club some six month ago. Local MPA Arif Khan Sandela, on the directives of the federal minister also gave Rs200,000 to the press club. Similarly, another PML-N leader Amjad Nazir Butt also presented a cheque for Rs100,000 to the press club.
