ISLAMABAD - Punjab Police Saturday informed the Supreme Court that land grabber Mansha Ali Khokhar alias Mansha Bomb is involved in 66 cases of heinous nature, including the cases registered under Anti-Terrorism Act.
Punjab police submitted its reply through Additional Advocate General Punjab Qasim Chohan further stated that a request has also been made to the concerned authorities to place Bomb’s and his sons’ names on the Exit Control List (ECL).
Furthermore, the State Bank of Pakistan has also been requested for freezing their bank accounts. The Supreme Court is further informed that the police are obtaining information regarding lockers owned by Bomb held in different banks.
Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar had taken a suo motu notice on an application of overseas Pakistani Mahmood Ashraf seeking top court’s indulgence on police’s reluctance to take action against Mansha Bomb, who allegedly grabbed applicant’s property.
After the top court’s orders, a 6-member Special Team was constituted by Deputy Inspector General of Police Investigation Lahore.
The report stated that the Chairman Punjab Cooperative Liquidation Board, Chief Settlement Commissioner Rehabilitation Department, all Administrative Secretaries of Government of Punjab, Deputy Commissioner Lahore and Director General Lahore Development Authority (LDA) have been requested for provision of record regarding Qabza Groups and illegal occupations on private and government land.
The special team of police has been directed to ensure to finalize the investigation of the cases against Bomb on its merits. The officers were also directed to coordinate with all the concerned departments in order to collect evidence and relevant record for investigation of these cases.
It has further reported that the record of Bomb’s office has been perused which revealed that 66 cases of heinous nature have been registered against Bomb and his sons namely Tariq Mansha, Faisal Mansha, Amir Mansha and Waqas all residing in Johar Town Lahore.
Out of these 66 cases, 19 are related to illegal occupation or attempt to occupy land illegally, possession has been restored to legal owners in all these cases.
It is further added that a list of the various properties/ lands measuring total 2041 Kanals and 8 Marla valuing Rs. 3060 million of which Mansha and his sons had illegally occupied has been cleared during an Anti Encroachment Drive.
It added that about 32-Kanal land which was encroached by Bomb has been retrieved to the actual owner, the LDA.
Similarly, possession of House No 163/F situated at Johar Town has also been restored from the illegal possession of Bomb and after restoration, the possession of the house was handed over to actual owner of the property.
During the investigation of a Case, a cash of Rs. 42,89,000, Saudi Rial 314, Gold Ornaments weighing 1837.92 Grams and illegal weapons such as Rifle pump action 12 bore, 1 Pistold9-MM, 02 Pistols 30 bore and 225 Magazine of different kind along with 243 live cartridges have been recovered from the possession of the accused persons which have been taken into custody.
It further added that Bomb, his son Asim and brother-in-law Haider Ali were produced before the Competent Court where physical remand of the accused persons has been obtained.
