PM meets Nishtar's grand daughter

ISLAMABAD (APP)- Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Friday met the grand daughter of Sardar Abdur Rab Nishtar, Dr. Sania Nishtar at the PM House. The Prime Minister praised the services rendered by Sardar Abdur Rab Nishtar in the creation of Pakistan and strengthening the country in its early years. The Prime Minister also lauded the services of Dr.  Sania, which she has been rendering through her NGO "Heartfile" in the sphere of health policy and planning. Dr. Sania is known for her cutting edge contributions to health policy and planning. She formed an NGO thinktank named Heartfile, which today is the most powerful health policy voice in Pakistan and being recognised as a model for replicating in other developing countries. Dr. Asim Hussain, Chairman National Reconstruction Bureau (NRB) also called on the Prime Minister and discussed with him matters relating to his organisation.  The Prime Minister underscored the need to evaluate the working of the district governments so that the problems of the people could be addressed at their doorstep. Abdullah H. Haroon, permanent representative of Pakistan in the UN also met the Prime Minister and apprised him of the on-going UN Assembly session.  He also discussed with the Prime Minister the President's recent visit to the US. Khalil Ahmad, ambassador-at-large also called on the Prime Minister and apprised him of the matters related to establishment division.
