JHANG- Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif says the government will not rest till complete rehabilitation of flood affected people.

Addressing the flood affectees at Jandyana area in Jhang district today, the prime minister said all available resources have been made available for the relief activities. Damage assessment has been carried out and every flood affected family will be fully compensated for the loss of lives, damage to houses, crops and cattle heads without discrimination.

Nawaz Sharif said the first installment of 25 thousand rupees was paid to the flood affected families before Eid-ul Azha while the process of payment of second installment of 25 thousand rupees will start from October 20. The prime minister assured that steps would be taken to avert flood damages in future, including checking the erosion by rivers of populated areas. He also appreciated the efforts put in by the district administration for the relief of flood hit people saying it is unprecedented that the flood hit people had been provided with relief on fast track basis.

He said the armed forces and rescue officials also deserve commendation for their timely response during the floods. He said all resources including helicopters and boats were deployed to shift the stranded people to safer places. On the occasion, Nawaz announced to grant the status of college to a local school in Khewa.
