Multan- The funeral prayers of the two victims of the yesterday’s stampede at a rally of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf were offered today in Multan.

Funeral prayers of Muawiya and Salman were offered at Siddiq Park where senior politicians including Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Javed Hasmi, social activists, religious personalities and a large number of citizens were present.

Tearful scenes were witnessed during the last rites of the victims. After the funeral the workers of PTI and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) were engaged in a stand-off and chanted slogans against  Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Javed Hashmi. PTI is in a drive against the government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, held a mammoth rally at Qasim Bagh of Multan on Friday, in which a stampede killed  seven people and injured many others. Imran Khan has blamed local administration for the incident, saying that lights were switched off soon after his speech and only two gates out of four were opened for the rally participants to exit. PTI chief Imran Khan has announced three-day mourning over the tragic incident.
