UNITED NATAIONS- The UN Security Council (UNSC) has strongly condemned killing of a Pakistani peacekeeper and injuring of several others from Pakistan and Bangladesh in the Central African Republic (CAR).

The Council expressed condolences with the family of the deceased peacekeeper and governments of Pakistan and Bangladesh. It said attacks and provocations against peacekeepers by armed groups constitute war crime.

The Security Council called on the Central African authorities to bring the perpetrators to justice. The UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon also strongly condemned killing of Pakistani peacekeeper.
