LAHORE:The Walton Cantonment Board (WCB) disposed of 30,000 tonnes entrails and waste of sacrificial animals during Eid.

Talking to APP Friday, Additional Executive Officer WCB Ammara Ammar said 1,100 staffers worked from 5:00am to 11:00pm during Eid days and disposed of animals offal.

She said 30 maund lime powder was used along streets, roads and main filth depots to ward off diseases. Residents and social organisations of the area also extended cooperation with the administration of the WCB.  She said plastic bags were provided to people at 10 stalls set up at seven sectors of the WCB so that they could pack entrails in them for its proper disposal.–APP

Ammara said 64 trucks, dumpers and tractor-trollies took part in the operation.

Meanwhile, Chief Sanitary Inspector Muhammad Saleem along with sanitary workers visited door-to-door in different streets and gave a quick response to people.
