PESHAWAR - On the eve of World Day against Executions, Pakistan Commission for Human Rights Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter Saturday held a protest demonstration against the capital punishment in the country.
The protesting activists and civil society members led by the Commission Provincial Coordinator Sahidullah and Muhammad Qasim were carrying placards and banner inscribed with slogans against the capital punishment in Pakistan and in favour to end the executions. They also chanted slogans against the death punishment to convicted criminals.
The protest demo was also attended by lawyers, representatives of various non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and civil society members.
Talking to media on the occasion, the participants of the protest said that due to weak judicial and improper investigation system capital punishment to convicted inmates is injustice.
