Rawalpindi - A woman committed suicide because of some domestic issue here yesterday.

Police shifted the dead body to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for post-mortem.

According to station house officer (SHO) of Civil Line police station, the woman ended her life by hanging with a ceiling fan. He said that she was daughter of a retired cook of police department and was living along with her father in his house located at Police Line. He added that the woman was divorced a few months ago. “Upon calling, police reached the spot and recovered the dead body and shifted it to DHQ Hospital for autopsy,” he said adding that further investigation was under way.

The doctors handed over the dead body to the bereaved father after conducting the post-mortem. Meanwhile, a proclaimed offender attempted to commit suicide in a police lock-up of the Airport Police Station. Baber Usman, a proclaimed offender, who in a police lock-up for investigation in a murder case, allegedly smashed glass of a window and thrust up his neck with a broken glass piece. The glass piercing led to profuse bleeding and he was rushed the District Headquarters Hospital for treatment where doctors said his condition was out of danger. The police have registered another case against the suspect for attempting to commit suicide.
