40pc declared successful in HSSC part-I exams

Rawalpindi - The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Rawalpindi (BISER) yesterday announced the results of Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) annual examination 2016, Part-I.

The passing percentage remained 40.07 per cent. According to BISER Chairman Dr Muhammad Muhammad Zareef, a total of 43,698 candidates (male and female) appeared in the HSSC annual examinations Part-I and out of them 17,510 were declared successful whereas 26,178 could not pass the examination.

He said some 44,623 students were enrolled but only 43,698 candidates appeared in the examination. Of 43,698, he said, 26,845 were female candidates while 17778 were male students. A total of 882 candidates remained absent during the examinations, the chairman said.
