Islamabad - Mayor Islamabad and Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Sheikh Anser Aziz yesterday inaugurated ‘Club House’ at Markaz F-6.

The inaugural ceremony was participated by officers of CDA and Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), elected representatives and residents of the capital city. The mayor speaking on the occasion said that provision of quality recreational facilities in Islamabad is among top priorities of the MCI. He said that at time of establishment of MCI, construction of Club House was being carried out at slow pace; however, concerned formations were directed to complete this public welfare project at the earliest.

He said that MCI has taken concrete steps for provision of healthy and recreational facilities in Islamabad. “In order to eliminate monopoly of a specific group and ensure access of general public to these grounds, MCI has started retrieving control of grounds from illegal occupants,” he said. He was of the view that the residents of the capital city, particularly youth of Islamabad, has first right over these grounds where they could not only play their games but would also help flourish their talents. He said that all playgrounds of the city are being upgraded on modern lines and provision of missing and state-of-the-art facilities is also being ensured. He said that elected that local elected representatives have been tasked not only to take care of the grounds but ensure the access of general public of their respective rectors in these grounds.
