Voicing their opinion upon the arrest of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif, the members, leaders and supporters of PML-N and its allies protested outside the Parliament House on Thursday and chanted slogans.
Former National Assembly (NA) speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq led the alliance’s protest and ‘shame, shame’ slogans were chanted. “Shehbaz’s work was praised by the entire world as the former Punjab chief minister had transformed Punjab,” said PML-N leader Rana Tanveer Hussain while addressing the protest.
Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PMAP) Senator Usman Kakar, also present at the occasion, condemned the arrest of Shehbaz, who was detained by the National Accountability Bureau earlier this month in the Ashiana Iqbal Housing Scheme case.
The PMAP leader claimed that the Senate and General Elections of 2018 were massively rigged and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government was not the people’s choice. PML-N MPAs also gathered outside the Punjab Assembly on Wednesday against its failure to call a session over Shehbaz’s arrest.
