KARACHI (APP) - Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industrys leadership have requested diplomats from various countries working here to continue their support and efforts to enhance bilateral trade and relationship between their countries and Pakistan. KCCI arranged an iftar-dinner program here to pay tribute to Karachi-based diplomats. KCCI is maintaining this tradition for organizing iftar-dinner for Diplomats, said KCCI release on Thursday. KCCI President Anjum Nisar expressed heartfelt gratitude and compliments to the members of diplomatic corps for extending support and cooperation to promote bilateral trade and investment. He appreciated that the Embassies, Consulates and Trade Mission of various countries functioning in Pakistan have played a proactive role in the development of bilateral trade. He said bilateral trade play a fundamental role in the economies of countries and it aims to keep trade deficits at minimum. In the era of globalisation, better trade ties between countries are need of the day. Anjum Nisar with optimism expressed his desire and hope that the diplomats will continue their benevolent support and efforts to enhance bilateral trade and relationship between their countries and Pakistan. Consul Generals, Deputy High Commissioners, Commercial Counsellors, Attaches and Trade Officers from Iran, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Qatar, Oman, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Japan, Korea, France, Indonesia, Vietnam, Switzerland, Australia, Rwanda, Russia and Germany attended the program besides good number of business community. Siraj Kassam Teli, Chairman, Businessmen Group and former president of KCCI also acknowledged Diplomatic Corps support and cooperation to KCCI and the business community to cement economic ties. He also appreciated the Diplomats for their efforts to exchange the trade information and exchanging trade delegation.
