'Quality food items being sold in Sasta Bazaars'

RAWALPINDI - Commissioner of Rawalpindi Division Zahid Saeed along with District Coordination Officer (DCO) Imdadullah Bosal on Wednesday visited different Ramazan Bazaars and expressed satisfaction over provision and quality of essential food items being sold there. On the occasion, Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO) Rawal Town Nasir Ali Shah, Special Price Magistrate (SPM) Suhail Maqbool, members of Market Committee and other district government officials were also present. Briefing the Commissioner Zahid Saeed, TMO Nasir Shah said that the rush in queues of consumers of subsidised atta sugar had lessened after introducing the condition of National Identity Card (NIC) for this purpose by the Punjab government. Commissioner Zahid Saeed, while speaking on the occasion, directed the officials of Civil Defence, who were working voluntarily, to pinch NICs so that one man could get one bag of atta on subsidised rate of Rs 200. He said that imprudent was seen in the quality of vegetables and fruit being sold out in these Ramazan Sasta Bazaars and this process would continue to facilitate destitute segments of the society. He said that district government would not allow selling of substandard and rotten essential food items and it would also take strict action against those who found involve in overcharging or hoarding. In Ramazan Bazaars of Haidery Chowk the Commissioner directed the stall-holders to provide atta and sugar on low rates to people. could get benefit under Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Mian Shehbaz Sharifs Ramazan Package, he added.
