Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Haider Abbas Rizvi said that the ongoing targeted operation in Karachi seems no more transparent as some elements sabotage the operation.

Speaking during the press conference here on Wednesday, the MQM leader said that gang war being patronized by political forces in Karachi.

He said that hundreds of innocent people, including MQM activists, were arrested in the operation.

'If some criminals are hiding in MQM ranks, party will never support such elements' he said.

Rizvi said that when MQM ex-MPA Nadim Hashmi was arrested, the party contacted the authorities and the party was told that if there are crimes in any area, they would arrest the unit in-charge of MQM office of the area.

Meanwhile, violence erupted in various cities of Sindh on Wednesday after the arrest of former member Sindh Assembly Nadeem Hashmi belonging to Muttahida Qaumi Movement in the murder case of two police personnel.

Media reports said people took to streets and forced the traders and schools to close down businesses in the city.

The transport alliance has also announced to keep the transport off the roads in the city today.

Incidents of violence have been reported from Hyderabad‚ Sukkur‚ Mirpur Khas and Tandu Allah Yar.
