Former govt deprives KP of its due right in CPEC: Mehmood Khan

Chief Minister (CM) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Mehmood Khan on Tuesday has said that former government didn’t give KP its licit right in the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and also not included its provincial projects in the CPEC agreement.

KP Minister for communication and works Akbar Ayub, Secretary PND Zahir Shah, Secretary Transport, Secretary Energy and Power, Commissioner Peshawar Shahab Ali Shah, Principle Secretary of CM Muhammad Israr and others attended the meeting.

Secretary PND briefed CM and other officials about the progress in different ongoing projects under CPEC.
It has been said in the briefing that the previous government had kept deprived KP of its due right and didn’t include its provincial projects in the CPEC project.

CM KP Mehmood Khan directed concerned authorities to write a letter to the federal government that they should make sure the exchange of written information related to different CPEC projects.

CM also gave an indication of including Chitral Shandor link road, Rashakai Especial Economic Road, and Greater Peshawar Mass Transit Circular Rail Projects in the CPEC project.

Chief Minister also directed authorities to design such projects which should be marketable and could attract more investors. He said that work upon Rashakai Economic Zone will be sped up.
