ISLAMABAD - The National Accountability Bureau’s key witness Wajid Zia Monday informed the Accountability Court that Hill Modern Industry for Metal Establishment is the only property of Hussain Nawaz during cross-questioning in Al-Azizia Steel Mills corruption reference.
He said the Hill Modern Industry for Metal Establishment was established according to the Saudi laws. The hearing of Al-Aziziya Steel Mills Reference was resumed against former premier Nawaz Sharif in the Accountability Court. Defence Counsel Khawaja Harris continued cross-questioning with Wajid Zia.
Nawaz Sharif was produced before the Accountability Court from Adiyala Jail in tight security arrangements.
During cross-questioning, Defence Counsel for Nawaz Sharif in Al-Aziziya Steel Mills Reference Khawaja Harris asked Wajid Zia whether the JIT possess relevant documents, which shows the Hill Metal Establishment as formal company. The JIT Head replied that as per a source document in possession of JIT, the Hill Metal Establishment was mentioned as a company, adding this source document was received by JIT in reply to a Mural Legal Assistance (MLA) on June 20, 2017.
Wajid Zia also informed the court that as per received MLA, incorporation year for the Hill Metal Establishment was mentioned as 05/2004, whereas drafting the MLA letter any witness has not informed the Accountability Court about incorporation year of HME.
After cross-questioning of the defence, Judge Accountability Court Arshad Malik adjourned the hearing for 12:30 on Tuesday. The Defence will keep continue his cross-questioning with Panama JIT team Head Wajid Zia today (Tuesday) as well.
