LAHORE - Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) while condemning the murder of Baloch Sardars including Ghulam Muhammad Baloch, Sher Muhammad Bugti and Lala Munir has called for an immediate inquiry into the incident in order to trace out the culprits and award them due punishment under the law. Muqtadir Akhtar Shabbir said that the people of Punjab, particularly the legal fraternity is with the people of Balochistan at this hour of sorrow and grief. He said Pakistan was already passing through a difficult time and the gory incident has aggravated worry of the nation. He said the murdered leaders of Balochistan were faithful and loyal to the country so much so that they played a significant role in the release of UN official John Solecki from the kidnappers. On behalf of the Bar, Muqtadir has demanded of the authorities for immediate probe into the incident and award of an exemplary punishment to the culprits. In order to comfort agitated sentiments of the people on this sad incident, the authorities must act fast to lay hand on the murderers, he said in the context of the peace situation created by the protest in Balochistan over the murders. Meanwhile, the Bar will vote on Tuesday on a resolution which seek condemnation of the murdered Baloch sardars who were kidnapped some five days ago and were found brutally killed at the hand of as yet not known persons. The resolution moved by Muhammad Sharif Chauhan with the support of hundreds of bar members, terms killing of Baloch leaders a tremendously tragic incident which has not only made everyone tense but has also saddened the overall atmosphere in the country. It said the murders in question smack of a conspiracy to divide the nation of Pakistan and to weaken their strength by that means, which needs to be countered with iron hands. The resolution demanded early arrest and punishment to the culprits.
