Pakistan's acting High Commissioner in UK Asif Durrani has said Pakistan diplomats trying to seek consular access to the arrested Pakistani nationals. Durrani said it will be premature to comment about the arrests in Manchester. A court has granted seven-day remand of the arrested terror suspects to the police. Most of the arrested men were in Britain with student visas. British Police arrested them from Manchester, Liverpool and Lancashire County on Wednesday. Foreign Office spokesman in Islamabad says the government has asked for consular access for the arrested men. Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Foreign Secretary David Miliband had telephoned Islamabad after the arrests.
