CHAKWAL - PML-Q Member Punjab Assembly Ghazala Azmat died on Saturday. She was 62 and suffering from liver cancer. The PML-Q lawmaker was to fly to China today (Sunday). She was elected on PML-Q ticket on special seats for women and remained firm to her party. However, after the lifting of Governor rule in Punjab she switched over to the forward bloc. In spite of her poor health, she visited Raiwind along with members of forward bloc and met with Sharif brothers and reposed her confidence in Shahbaz Sharif. It is learnt that when she was admitted at Rawalpindi hospital she decided to join forward bloc and was airlifted from Rawalpindi to Sharif hospital Lahore and Shahbaz himself supervised her treatment. The funeral of Ghazala Azmat will be held at Choa Saiden Shah at 11am. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has condoled the death of PML-Q MPA Ghazala Azmat. In his condolence message the prime minister prayed that Allah Almighty might rest her soul in peace and grant the bereaved family patience, courage and forbearance to face the irreparable loss.
