KARACHI (APP) - Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Chief Altaf Hussain has said the country is facing serious challenges and only people belonging to poor-middle-class can save the country from the same. He was addressing via telephone from London the MQM workers, supporters, sympathisers and people in different districts in Punjab Province, said a statement issued by MQM here Saturday. Altaf Hussain said the countrymen are facing hardships due to electricity load shedding while the world-wide economic slow-down has also casting its impacts on Pakistan. He said suicide attacks at mosques and Imambargahs are against the teachings of Islam and the elements who are helping the extremists for indulging in such acts are open enemies of Pakistan and Islam. He maintained that MQM is the only party in the country which represents poor-middle-class and there is no feudal in the party. Referring to a list published by international media, Altaf Hussain said the names of political leaders of all parties in Pakistan are included in it but his name is not enlisted. He said MQM is serving the masses in the country without any discrimination. He said feudals can not save Pakistan from the challenges it is confronted with but the poor-middle-class can take-up and achieve this task. Altaf said his party is practically working to create awareness among the people of Punjab so that the brave and enthusiastic people of the Punjab can foil the alleged conspiracy to break the country. He also paid tributes to his party workers in the Punjab for organising protests in their respective areas against flogging of a girl, publicly at Swat. He said that the people from Punjab will have to come forward against what he called as Talibanisation in the Punjab and to save the country.
