MICHELLE Ryan has admitted that she was upset over NBCs decision to axe Bionic Woman after just one season. The former EastEnders actress landed the lead role in the sci-fi remake in February 2007, but the shows production was halted months later due to the US writers strike. In 2008, it was confirmed that the programme would not be re-commissioned following disappointing ratings. Speaking to The Guardian about the projects fate, Ryan revealed: It was really upsetting because we had been making a great, popular show. I thought there would be a new series after the writers strike ended - but NBC thought the momentum we had built up had gone. So they cancelled it. Asked if she considered returning to Albert Square following the setback, she replied: Theres just no way I would allow that to happen.
