LAHORE - The wheat procurement centre at Kot Naina, Tehsil Shakargarh has been shifted to Mandi Khail, as it was situated in a low lying area. In a handout issued here Sunday, the spokesman of Punjab Food Department said that Kot Naina centre had been shifted to Mundi Khail as private go-downs were available there in the vicinity where wheat could be stored in a secure manner. He informed that the centre had been relocated with the decision of administrators and Food Department. He further said that during the previous year, the stocks of Kot Naina had to be shifted to Muridkey centre, Gujr-anwala to save the procured wheat. He said that due to this the department not only faced physical difficulties but also had to sustain losses due to relocation of stocks.
