ISLAMABAD (APP) Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik has contacted Pakistan High Commissioner in India Shahid Malik on phone to get back Shoaib Maliks passport. Talking to a private TV news channel on Sunday, the Interior Minister said that the Pakistan High Commissioner in New Delhi has been directed to take immediate action for getting Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Maliks passport back, seized by Indian police. He said, I read in the paper that Shoaib Maliks passport has not been released to him. I have taken serious notice of the issue and I contacted our High Commissioner to India Shahid Malik and requested him to give my message to Mr Chidambaram. It is not a big deal, we will not interfere in the FIR registered. But there are always provisions. They can release the passport after taking any guarantee. It would be a good gesture to the people of Pakistan because everyone is looking forward to their wedding. Hopefully, Mr Chidambaram will consider my request seriously, said Malik.
