ABBOTTABAD - After succeeding in its efforts to rename NWFP as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti-led provincial Government turned its guns towards PML-N and PML-Q in a bid to pit them against each other. The melodramatic situation developed on Sunday morning when the PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain along with Senator Wasim Sajjad and PML-Q NWFP President Amir Muqaam visited the residence of ex-federal minister Aman-ullah Khan Jadoon and held joint press conference. The President of PML-Q held his rivals and former prime minister Mian Nawaz Sharif responsible for the ongoing unrest in the Hazara Division over the renaming of NWFP as Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, which was detrimental to the people of Hazaras interest who sent PML-Ns three MNAs and five MPAs to the national and provincial assemblies respectively. He accused Mian Nawaz Sharif of breaching the confidence of people of Hazara Division by voting in favour of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Meanwhile, after Chaudhry Shujaat Hussains press conference, an announcement was made that the PML-Q workers would hold sit-in in Fawara Chowk, Abbottabad. The move was aimed at sabotaging the workers convention of the PML-N organised by the office-bearers and workers of the party. However, in the wake of the law and order situation, District Coordination Officer Abbottabad, Capt (Retd) Munir Azam imposed the Section 144 under which holding of political rallies or taking out procession had been banned for thirty days. However, the three MPAs of NWFP Assembly from Abbottabd namely Sadar Shamoon Yar Khan, Barrister Javed Abbasi and Inayatullah Khan Jadoon vowed that the credit for establishment of Hazara province would not be given to the defeated leaders of the PML-Q, as they would support the resolution tabled in the provincial assembly in favour of the Hazara province. Barrister Javed Abbasi vowed to hold the workers convention at Abbottabd, which would be addressed by PML-N Chief Organizer Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan on Monday (today).
