Solution of ills lies in Islamic teachings, says Kazmi

LAHORE - The solution of all the miseries lies in the teachings of Islam and the revolution through great mystics thoughts is need of the hour. This was stated by Federal Minister for Religious Affair Syed Hamid Saeed Kazmi while speaking at International Tasawaf Seminar held here on Sunday at Aiwan-e-Iqbal. Number of religious scholars and custodians of shrines also attended the seminar and spoke on the occasion. Syed Hamid Saeed Kazmi said that at international level Islam is being defaced but reality is different and Islam is a religion of peace and love. He said Khawaja Nizam-ud-Din Aulia and other great mystics of Islam were the real faces of religion Islam is religion of peace and love and speaks for human dignity and brotherhood, Kazmi further said. The minister praised the role of Pakistani nation against war on terrorism. Haji Saeed Chishti of Pakpattan, Syed Tahir Nizami of Dehli, Syed Moen-ud-Din of Kot Mitthan, Member of Islamic Ideological Council, Mohammad Aamir and other speakers also spoke on the spiritual connection of Islam and said that the spreading of mystic thoughts was the need of the day. A resolution was adopted to make Persian and mysticism part of curriculum. Later talking to reporters, Kazmi termed Sania-Shoaib marriage a non-issue and urged the media to avoid airing this minor issue in a situation when the state is confronting with more serious problems. It is non-issue and a storm in the tea cup which would be settled after the marriage. Instead of focusing their (Sania-Shoaib) personal matter, we should divert our attention on other problems facing the country, he said. He said despite continuous price-hike coupled with loadshedding and unemployment, masses have cooperated with government on the war against terrorism. And government should now strive hard to deliver for the betterment of people, he added. Answering a question, the minister said Haj policy would be announced soon and government was trying not to increase the fare of PIA.
