PESHAWAR -The disgruntled workers of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday announced to launch a “Save PTI Movement”, as ideological workers were totally ignored in awarding party tickets.
While speaking at a press conference here at press club, PTI President Town-IV, Peshawar Fazal Elahi and Zaheer Mohmand along with scores of dissident workers made the announcement and vowed to get the rights of ideological workers.
He said that the decision was taken with the consultation of the party offices-bearers and workers from various union council, tehsil, and districts to start an organided movement “Save party in the province” against the party provincial leadership.
Flanked by Dr Inayatullah, Wajidullah and other workers, he viewed that the basic objective of the campaign was to inform central leadership about the unfair decision by the parliamentary board regarding awarding of tickets for the upcoming elections.
He claimed the party activists and workers had fully supported to take part in this movement, which is solely to get rid party from the corrupt faces in the province.
Elahi said that the parliamentary board was not consulted with office-bearers at the Union Council Hazar Khawani, Peshawar before finalising the party tickets in four constituencies including PK-6, PK-4, PK-10, and PK-11. He urged the party Chairman Imran Khan to review the decision of parliamentary board, and give ticket only ideological workers in these constituencies.
He said the PTI had made history for conducting intra-party election from UC’s Tehsil, districts and regions level in the country.
It was great precedent for other political parties to nurture internally democratic norms, he added.
Zaheer said that a conspiracy was being hatched to weaken party in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
But, he said the ideological workers would foil all such attempts undermining the basic roots of the party in the province. He said the decisions had been made on totally favouritism and nepotism basis, by ignoring ideological workers in the party.
He demanded of the party central Chairman Imran Khan to take notice of unfair distribution of tickets by the parliamentary board, and ensure awarding party tickets to deserving ideological workers.
