KCCI hosts interactive session on Pak-Taiwan bilateral trade


KARACHI - Taiwanese business mission expressed gratitude to Karachi Chamber Commerce and Industry for extending opportunity to Taiwanese business delegation to explore business possibilities and prospects of businesses with KCCI members.
Delegation leader Helen Lin who is also the director of Globe Lock & Hardware Inc., stated that Taiwanese business community desires to establish productive relations with Pakistani counterparts. The Taiwanese mission to Pakistan was composed to establish business contacts and understanding market trends and business.
She apprised that Taiwanese business delegation comprised of 28 leading brands of Taiwan engaged in office automation equipment, automatic pumps, electronics & electrical items, auto parts, locks, hardware tools, steel coils & sheets, rubber parts, UPS, AVR, building materials, bearings, cosmetics, water filters, textiles accessories, adhesives, brake & suspension systems, solar energy products, textile machinery. She appreciated presence of number of KCCI member companies to have meaningful B2B meetings with Taiwanese delegation.
Director of Taiwan Centre based in Tehran Abraham Lin apprised that the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), is the trade and investment promotion organisation to help promote foreign trade. Jointly sponsored by the government and various commercial and industrial associations, TAITRA helps Taiwan’s business enterprises reinforce their international competitiveness as well as cope with the challenges they face in the global markets.
KCCI’s Senior Vice President Shamim A. Firpo has asserted upon the need of opening embassies of Pakistan and Taiwan in respective countries to facilitate trade. He urged to open commercial offices in Pakistan and Taiwan as first step to establish direct diplomatic relations followed by establishing of embassies to strengthen the political, commercial and economic cooperation between two countries.
He stated that opening of trade offices will pave way for developing vibrant relationship and people-to-people contacts. Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) hosted an interactive session on Pakistan-Taiwan bilateral trade on the occasion of visit of a high profile Taiwanese business delegation comprising of more than 20 businesspersons supported by Taiwan External Trade Development Council, led by Helen Lin to Pakistan.
