RAWALPINDI – A man was killed while five others critically injured on Thursday as a result of a collision between three vehicles and one motorcycle near Soan Bridge, Hamrahi Terminal, area of Police Station (PS) Morgah.
The deceased identified as Fida Hussain while Bahadur Khan, aged 62, Raza Shah, aged 19, Khalil Ahmed aged 25, Israr Ahmed son of Bisharat Hussain and Khalid Mehmood son of Sahadat Ali were among the injured, have been shifted by the Rescue 1122 to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for autopsy and cure, police added.
The police also arrested the driver of dumper who was later ascertained as Tahzeem, resident of Shakeriyal. A case was registered against the accused.
According to police, the accident occurred when brakes of a loaded dumper (LID-14) going towards Lahore from Pindi got failed owing to which the driver lost his control over the speedy dumper and smashed it into a motorcycle, Hiace and Suzuki carry van going ahead, killing one man and injuring five others.
Upon getting information, Rescue 1122 immediately dispatched rescue teams, which started rescue operation on the spote, said the police adding that the rescuers transported the injured and a dead man to DHQ for cure and postmortem.
Till the filing of this report, the investigation of the accident was under investigation.
