MULTAN - The government has decided to transfer all SHOs and revenue officers with political links to other districts besides installing CCTV cameras at sensitive polling stations across the district.
This was disclosed by the newly-appointed DCO Gulzar Hussain Shah and new CPO Ghulam Mehmood Dogar while chairing a meeting to review arrangements for the upcoming elections. They said that the government was determined to ensure free, fair and transparent elections and an impartial team was being formed for the holding of polls in this regard. It was decided in the meeting that cases would be registered against those brandishing arms and committing aerial firing. The participants of the meeting agreed to extend all out cooperation to the returning officers and election commission as well as strict implementation of election code of conduct.
They declared that specific spots would be fixed for conducting election processions and no one would be allowed to hold any public meeting at any other place.
