SARGODHA/HAFIZABAD/BAHAWALPUR/BAHAWALNAGAR - At least nine persons including four women and an infant were killed and four others injured in separate incidents of violence, honour killing and road accidents over the past 24 hours.

According to detail, in Sargodha four people including a woman were killed in various mishaps. In the first incident a car collided with a truck on Sargodha Faisalabad Road as a woman identified as Asia Bibi was killed on the spot and four others injured.

In another incident, a motorcyclist namely Kashif Latif was hit by a speeding van. He sustained critical wounds and died instantly. Similarly, a youth namely Muhammad Usman was killed in an accident happened on Sargodha-Faisalabad Road.

In Istaqlal Abad Colony the decomposed body of a 40 years old man identified as Shahid was found from his house. The police shifted the dead body to DHQ Hospital and launched investigation.

In BAHAWALPUR, a man strangulated his wife to death here on Thursday.

According to details, 25-year-old Kamo Mai, wife of Pir Waraam, a resident of Chak 61/DB near Yazman went to attend the wedding of her relative. At which he flared up and started beating her. In the meantime in a fit of anger he strangulated her to death.

Later, Pir Waraam tried to paint the incident as suicide. However, the police on suspicion arrested him and during interrogation he confessed to have strangulated his wife. The Yazman Police registered a case against him.

In another incident, a man with connivance of his son killed his daughter on suspicion of having an illicit relationship with someone.

As per detail, Abdul Rehman, his Ashfaq Ahmad and his son Azizur Rehman, a resident of Chak 104/P near Rahim Yar Khan killed his 24-year-old daughter Haaj Mai by declaring her Kari for having illicit relations with her brother-in-law.

The police took the dead body for autopsy and started investigation.

In HAFIZABAD, a middle-aged villager was crushed to death by a recklessly driven tractor-trolley on Kassoki Road here on Thursday evening.

According to police source, Taj Din alias Taja was on way to his village on his bike when a carelessly driven tractor-trolley coming from opposite direction hit his bike. He was rushed to hospital but could not survive.

Meanwhile in BAHAWALNAGAR, a woman and her infant son burnt alive in a fire broke out due to short circuit in the Madressa Police precinct on Thursday.

According to details, Mst Rani, wife of Riaz, a resident of Chak Yasinka and her infant son Abdullah were asleep in a room of their house in the night. However, when Riaz got awaken in the morning, he found his wife and infant son burnt alive as a fire had erupted due to short circuit in their room. However no legal proceedings were taken yet.
