LAHORE – COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) Lahore beat Lancaster University by 39 runs in the last league match to enter the final of the Lancaster-COMSATS Twenty20 Cricket Championship here at the Gaddafi Stadium Friday. Lahore will take on CITT Attock/Wah Campus in the final to be played today (Saturday). Batting first, CIIT Lahore piled up a huge total of 194-6 in allotted 20 overs. Waqas Aslam scored 49 runs while Majid Mughal and Shah Zeb contributed 38 and 27 runs respectively. Sam Dyson and Basim Bashir bowled well and took two wickets each for Lancaster. In reply, Lancaster could manage to score 155 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Malley Ali hammered 69 runs dispatching the ball 13 times through the ropes while Jim Calloing made 39 runs.–Staff Reporter
