Spring flower show blossoms

RAWALPINDI - Annual Spring Flower Show commenced here at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) on Friday.
Horticulture department of PMAS-AAUR organised the show where more than 300 types of flowers were displayed. Fifteen institutes are participating in the show by putting flowers from their respective nurseries on display.
PMAS-AAUR Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Rai Niaz Ahmad, inaugurated the show. Addressing on the occasion, he said that floriculture industry had gained an immense importance and country could earn heavy foreign exchange by promoting it. He viewed that such shows could bring various positive changes in the country. He further stated that show would provide a platform to students to show their expertise, besides healthy entertainment to the residents of the twin cities.
Different varieties of spring flowers and plants are exhibited in the show. The show attracted a large number of visitors from the twin cities. The show would continue till April 14.

Lt Gen Muhammad Ahsan Mahmood, HI(M) chairman POF board, said on the occasion of opening ceremony of three days Flower Show arranged by POF administration here at POF Sports Complex the other day.
The chairman POF board directed the concerned officials to extend spring festival further, adding that every factory, group, school and college of Wah should participate in this activity. He congratulated the administration, especially Field Admin Group, for making magnificent arrangements for the exhibition.
Various production units of POF and educational institutions are participating in this exhibition. POF board members, army officers and civilian officers along with their families witnessed this beautiful show.
The chairman POF board and his wife visited each and every stall of flowers and admired the administrators who beautifully decorated their stalls. In the end, the chairman gave away prizes and shields to the position holders.
