On the repeated complaints of the citizens, the administration is all set to launch an operation against encroachments across the city with the coordination of Traders Association, an official said during a meeting.
It has given time to the encroachers for clearance of illegal structure voluntarily. Town Municipal Officer Munir Ahmad Paracha stated this while presiding over a meeting of the Town Municipal Administration.
Abdul Sattar, president of Traders Association, Town officer Regulation Muhammad Afzal, encroachment inspector Tahir Farooq, enforcement inspectors Rizwan Ali, Subhan Rasheed, Muhammad Nawaz, Arfan Yaqoob, Imran Haider Bukhari and Mushtaq Ahmad attended the meeting.
“Encroachers in the city will find it difficult to run their illegal activity in the coming days as the Town Administration armed with latest machinery and determination has launched a full-fledged campaign to clean the roads and bazaars,” he said.
He said that during the anti-encroachment drive, the city would be divided into different sectors for cleanliness, and added that a special public compliant cell would also establish in the TMA office. He also directed that the operation be entirely transparent and no encroacher be spared and dealt with according to the law. The TMO stated that fine amounting Rs40,000 had been imposed on various shopkeepers on overcharging.
