Police have arrested a narcotics dealer and a proclaimed offender in two raids. On a tip-off, the police conducted raid and arrested Irfan alias Irfana Babar, ex-police man, at his residence situated in block 28 DG Khan on the direction of ASP City Shahbaz Ellahi.

Police station city party was led by ASI Jahanzaib with other officials. The police recovered 4,475 grams of Charas, 1 pistol, 130 rounds of bullets and Rs183,000 from his possession. It registered case under 9-C Narcotics Act 13(2)20/65.

Similarly, it arrested proclaimed offender Ghulam Akbar Khosa from block 39 near Ghazi Park DG Khan. A large number of cops from Elite Police Force raided and arrested him. Police recovered one Kalashnikov with seven magazines, 2,81 bullets, one 9mm pistol with 27 bullets, 20 bullets of 3G and 89 mobile phones from his possession.

ASP City Shahbaz Ellahi said that crackdown on narcotics dealers had started on public and media complaints and it would be continued till the elimination of drug mafia. He further added that that ex-police man Irfana was spoiling the national youth by narcotics.

He said that the act was very dangerous and stressed a fight against it.

Political leader Sardar Jamshid Khan Lund said, “We all knew that our generation is facing threats of drugs and drug related crimes. Drugs are a direct attack not only on territory but also on the generation. Unfortunately, our generation is growing in a drug infested society. Narcotics are more dangerous than terrorism. We all should stand up against it and exercise a keen watch at our family and neighbourhoods to safe our youth. The police should also start speedy crackdowns on strong network of narcotics dealers in the jurisdiction of police station Kala especially at Dadoo Morr and its relevant areas.”
