Resident of Jhugian Manawan Wali, Bashir Ahmed attacked his wife Irshad Bibi with an axe as they exchanged harsh words over some domestic issue on early Saturday. The mother of three was rushed to a nearby hospital by her neighbours where she succumbed to injuries. The killer had escaped when the police reached the crime scene.

A relative of the deceased told the police investigators that the relations between the couple were not cordial since they married.

A police officer said that they were investigating to ascertain the motives behind the killing. According to initial investigations, it seemed that the man killed the mother of three daughters in the name of ‘honour.’ The police have registered a murder case against the landlord and are investigating.
