PPP KP directed to prepare for LB polls

ISLAMABAD  - Pakistan People’s Party on Saturday directed sitting and former senators, MNAs, MPAs, ticket holders as well as all Office-bearers of the party belonging to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to immediately go to their respective areas for assisting the provincial chapter of the party in overseeing the forthcoming local bodies’ polls in the province for which filing of nomination papers will start from Monday.
The directive was issued during a meeting held in Zardari House Saturday evening on a special directive from Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari.
The meeting presided over by Faryalk Talpur, MNA was attended by former Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, Provincial President Senator Khanzada Khan, Senator Rubina Khalid, Spokesperson Senator Farhatullah Babar, former provincial president and senior minister Rahim Dad Khan, Nighat Aurakzai, MPA, Aurangzeb Burki and Zulfikar Afghani.
Spokesperson Farhatullah Babar said that the meeting took stock of the preparation made by the provincial and local chapters of the party for the forthcoming polls and also issued directions to various tiers of party hierarchy in this regard.
“The KP legislators and party office-bearers were also directed to cancel their foreign visits so as to be available in the country until the end of local bodies’ polls in the province,” he said.
