RCB to ensure quality items in food street

Rawalpindi - The oath taking ceremony of ‘Walking and Food Street Management Committee’ was held here at Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) on Saturday.
RCB Chief Executive Officer Faheem Zafar took oath from the committee members. The walking and food street management committee members included Anjuman-e-Tajran Cannt President Sheikh Hafeez, Zafar Qadri, Fakhar-ul-Islam, Hassan Mustafa and Muneer Mughal.
Faheem Zafar, after taking oath, told media persons that after completion of Walking and Food Street and other mega projects, the shape of Bank Road would be of international standard. He said that the RCB spent Rs 20 million for making Walking and Food Street in Saddar.
He said that the families would have delicious and quality food items in the food street. He said that sanitary workers of RCB would lift the garbage and waste from the food street on daily basis whereas he would also pay surprise visit to maintain the standard of the items. The CEO said that the RCB had also allocated a big piece of land for parking lot where 200 vehicles could be parked at a time. He said that the disabled visitors would also be provided with service of wheelchairs.
On a query, he said that the management committee would voluntarily look after the matters the food street. The newly constructed flower market would be functional in the next month, he said in response to another question.
