The Pakistan Trade Union Defence Campaign (PTUDC) staged a protest here at Railway Chowk against the killing of 20 innocent labourers at Turbat, Balochistan and demanded the government to bring the perpetrators to the book.
It is to be noted that militants killed 20 innocent labourers including 16 belonging to Sadiqabad, district Rahim Yar Khan, 12 of whom are from the same family in the wee hours of Saturday in Turbat.
The government has announced that Rs1 million will be provided to the heirs of each of the deceased labourers as financial assistance.
Meanwhile, District Bar Association President Abdul Majeed Mustafai said that the DBA condemned the brutal act and demanded immediate arrest of those rebels who commissioned this inhumane act.
Mustafai said that as he got information about the killing, he immediately announced strike on behalf of the DBA and called a protest meeting to condemn the killings. He said that the incident exposed the security failure of the Balochistan government. Senior worker of PPP Ch Farooq Warraich condemned the act militants in Balochistan and demanded the government to show zero leniency for the terrorists.
Meanwhile, PPP district information secretary Mehmood Ahmed said that his party was against such violence and inhuman acts and was stood with the bereaved families. PTUDC office bearers including Haider Chughtai and Rana Qamar also condemned the brutal act.
