The Excise and Taxation Department in collaboration with traders, representatives of different NGOs, members of civil society and teachers marked the Tax day to promote tax culture in the society.

In this connection, a function was held wherein District Excise and Taxation Officer Habibullah Chattha was the chief guest. Speaking to the participants, he threw light on the importance of paying tax. He pointed out that the governments world-wide run on the money collected from public through different taxes and then governments use that money for the welfare of their citizens. He urged the participants to create awareness among the public about advantages of paying tax. He emphasised the participants to get invoiced of their payments from restaurants and other shopkeepers for winning exciting prizes. This practice will also discourage traders and businessmen to evade tax.

Speaking to the teachers, he said that they can play a positive role by highlighting the importance and benefits of paying tax among their students.

The function was followed by a walk that ended at Mandi Bahauddin Press Club. The participants were carrying different banners inscribed with slogans on the importance of paying tax.
