LAHORE: The Lahore High Court today issued notice to National Accountability Bureau in a petition seeking directions for it to investigate offshore companies allegedly established by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, his family members and other politicians.

Justice Shahid Waheed of the LHC passed the order and adjourned further hearing until April 14. Pakistan Awami Tehreek had filed the petition through Advocate Ishtiaq Chaudhary and submitted that Nawaz Sharif concealed his assets while submitting his nomination papers for elections. He alleged that Mr. Sharif also did not show assets of his family members.

He said he violated laws of the Election Commission of Pakistan. He submitted wrong information in his nomination papers and thus, he also violated the Constitution, the petitioner stated. He prayed to the court to order NAB to launch inquiry against PM, his family members and other politicians.
