Rawalpindi - Traffic police banned parking on both sides of Murree Road from Waris Khan to Committee Chowk to avoid blockage of the busiest road.

Similarly, traffic police are all set to take stern action against those people encroached upon roads causing traffic problems.

Talking to media men yesterday, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Shoaib Khurram Janbaz said that the parking of vehicles and motorcycles have been banned on both sides of Murree Road from Waris Khan to Committee Chowk in order to regulate the traffic without any hurdle. “The CTP restricted parking of vehicles on Murree Road to ensure smooth flow of traffic,” he said.

He said that Murree Road was a main artery and commuters used it for travelling between twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

Furthermore, a large numbers of electronics and other shops have been attracting the people because of which traffic rush was always high, he said.

He added that he also ordered wardens to deal with the encroachers with iron hands. He added that he has deputed a special force comprising 2 DSPs, 2 Inspectors, 46 wardens, 4 junior wardens and lifters to remove encroachments.
