UNICEF lauds govt's efforts for making Pakistan polio-free state

The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has lauded government's efforts for making Pakistan a polio-free state, reported Radio Pakistan.

These views were expressed by new UNICEF representative Ms. Aida Girma-Melaku in Pakistan during a meeting with Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, at which she presented her credentials to him.

She also commended Pakistan Government's efforts and achievements in reducing maternal and child mortality. She assured UNICEF's continued support to help enroll out of school children.
