KASUR - A youth stabbed his friend to death over a dispute, in the jurisdiction of Sarai Mughal police station on Sunday.
According to police, Muhammad Mansha and Shaan, residents of Moza Lakho Der Chak 48, had a dispute.
After an altercation, Shaan attacked Muhammad Mansha with a sharp edged weapon and injured him critically. The victim was shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Pattoki where he succumbed to his injuries. Sarai Mughal police were investigating.
Meanwhile, in another incident, a young man was found dead near Dussehra Ground area here on Saturday.
Some passersby spotted the body of a 30-year-old man in Dussehra Ground area and informed the police. The police reached the spot and sent to the mortuary for postmortem. Apparently, the deceased was an addict and he died due to unavailability of drug. The identity of corpse has yet to be established. Further investigation was underway.
Six held with narcotics
Police claimed on Sunday to have arrested six drug peddlers and recovered narcotics from their possession.
On the special direction of DPO Imran Kishore, the police launched a crackdown against drug pushers in the district. Allahabad police arrested Muhammad Aslam from Pakhuki area and recovered 1.32kg hashish. Mustafabad police arrested Abu Bakar near Lakhneke check-post and recovered 1.125kg hashish.
A-Division police arrested Ghulam Mustafa from College Road, and recovered 20 litres liquor. Kot Radha Kishan police arrested Amjad with 20 litres liquor near Pule Nahr Mir Sahib.
Similarly, police arrested Tariq with 20 liters liquor from Cinema Morh.
While, Sadr Pattoki police arrested drug peddler Sarfaraz, near Dhana Chak-12 and recovered 50 liters desi liquor from his possession. Cases have been registered against the accused.
